Water Tank Installation Nundah
Rainwater tank supply and installation for Nundah's established homes and gardens. Slimline tanks for tight inner-city side passages, under-deck tanks for raised Queenslanders, plus the pump, plumbing connections and overflow to stormwater done to Brisbane City Council standards. Keep your garden green and your water bill down.
Rainwater Tanks for Nundah's Character Homes & Gardens
Nundah is one of Brisbane's oldest suburbs, full of pre-war and post-war Queenslanders on blocks that were never laid out for a fat round tank on the side lawn. The trick here is choosing a tank that suits the space — a slimline against the fence line, or an under-deck tank slung beneath a raised home — so you store water without losing your yard. We size the tank to your roof and what you want it to feed, then connect it all up.
There's plenty of water to catch. Nundah collects roughly 1,400–1,500mm a year, much of it in fast, heavy summer storms. Captured in a tank, that roof water keeps an established Nundah garden green through the dry months and can supply your toilet and laundry too — cutting mains use by around 30–40% for a well-sized system. The overflow is run to stormwater so heavy downpours drain away cleanly rather than pooling near the house.
Every connection is carried out by a licensed plumber and certified to Queensland standards and Brisbane City Council requirements. We'll also flag any council rebate you may be eligible for.

What Can You Use Rainwater For?
One tank can cover most of a Nundah household's non-drinking water — indoors and out.
Toilet Flushing
Typically 20–25% of household water use. Requires a licensed connection with appropriate backflow protection.
Laundry
Washing machines use approximately 10–15% of household water. Rainwater connection requires a licensed plumber.
Garden & Irrigation
Keep an established Nundah garden green through summer — irrigation, garden beds and hoses. Connect directly or via pump; no licensed plumber needed for outdoor-only use.
Outdoor Taps & Car Wash
Outdoor tap connections for car washing, pathway and driveway cleaning, filling pools and general outdoor use.
Indoor connections require a licensed plumber
Rainwater used for toilets and laundry must be plumbed in correctly with proper cross-connection controls to prevent rainwater from mixing with or contaminating the town water supply. This work requires a licensed plumber and a compliance certificate. All our indoor connections are certified to Queensland standards.
How We Install Your Rainwater Tank
Start to finish by licensed Nundah plumbers — from sizing up a tight block to the compliance certificate.
Site Assessment & Sizing
We measure your roof catchment, walk the available space on the block, and ask what you want the rainwater to do. On Nundah's older, tighter properties that often points to a slimline tank down the side or an under-deck tank below a raised home — but we'll recommend a standard poly or bladder tank where the room is there.
Stable Base Preparation
A full tank can weigh several tonnes. We confirm the base is appropriate — concrete slab, compacted gravel pad or a purpose-built stand — and position the tank in the right location close to the main downpipe and supply area.
Inlet, Outlet & First-Flush Diverter
We connect the downpipe to the tank inlet and fit a first-flush diverter — it dumps the first dirty water off the roof before it reaches the tank, so your stored water stays clean. The overflow is plumbed to stormwater so the heavy summer downpours Nundah is known for drain away from the house instead of pooling against the footings.
Pump & Filtration Setup
Most indoor connections require a pressure pump to maintain adequate flow. We select and install an appropriate pump and any filtration required, and connect the supply line to your plumbing system. A backflow prevention device is installed where the system connects to town water (for backup supply).
Test, Certify & Customer Handover
We test the full system before we leave — inlet, pump, all connections and overflow. We issue a compliance certificate for the plumbing work, and walk you through how the system operates, how to maintain it and what to check periodically.
